Staff Spotlight

This month, we’re putting the spotlight on Rob Hondromatidis, our National Development Director, who has been with Resi Ventures for 18 months. Born and raised in Mt Evelyn and now settled in Bayside, Rob knows Melbourne very well. With over 15 years in property development and construction experience across Australia, Rob brings a strong combination of technical and on-the-ground experience to his role at Resi Ventures.

Favourite Project, Past or Present.

It’s hard to pick a favourite as none are the same and they all have differing challenges. However, the one that edges out the rest is probably our new acquisition in Innes Park, Bundaberg. It has it all, residential, commercial, medium density and all the stones throw away from the beach!

Any exciting milestones that you have been a part of at Resi Ventures?

A big one for me has been securing Federal EPBC approval for our Shearwater development in Paynesville Victoria. It was a challenging process where we faced over 50 objections at VCAT and it was satisfying getting through that and out the other side. A huge milestone for both the project and for our team that worked so hard to get us there.

What is your experience in the land development and construction industry?

I’ve spent over 15 years in property development and construction across Australia, with previous roles at Winslow, Villa World, and Wel. Co. I studied Civil & Infrastructure Engineering as well as Business at RMIT.

Favourite thing about working in the Greenfields Industry?

For me, it’s about helping people reach home. Greenfields gives us the chance to build entire communities from the ground up, not just houses but the parks, schools and streets that make a place feel like home.

Favourite restaurant in Melbourne?

10 Greek Plates. It’s where my wife and I have our weekly date night. A Gyros and a Myhos and I’m a happy man.
