What’s your very first memory of working in property?

I was acting CFO for a property developer back in 2001 when I was thrown in the deep end and learnt how to swim very quickly.

What’s the best advice someone has given you?

Don’t ever invest in anything you don’t understand.

What has been the most formative experience in your career?

Teaching others to get the most out of themselves.

What advice would you give a young person starting out in property?

Be a sponge by learning as much as you can as quickly as possible from everyone around you through asking lots of questions.

Who has been your most important professional mentor?

Bob Watson who has taught me that business is like a game of chess where you must constantly think ahead and also put your principles before profit.

At what time of day do you get your best work done?

6-9am
