80,000 Plantings Underway at Monument Wetlands

The final stage of landscaping has commenced at the Monument Wetlands.

Beveridge Williams are the consultants appointed for the landscape architecture of the $4.5 million wetlands.

Beveridge Williams has a strong reputation for delivering beautifully landscaped spaces. Their designs are functional, stimulating and integrate seamlessly into the surrounding environment.

The 4.22 hectare site on the corner of Plumpton and Taylors Road is due to open this year.

Commercial landscaper LD Total are the contractors responsible for planting out the site. Over the next four weeks 80,000 tube stock varieties of aquatics and grasses will be planted.

Resi Ventures Development Manager Rob Newnham said the commencement of the plantings was significant for the project. It’s the final step in completing the wetlands.

“There is only a small window for planting weather wise. So now is the right time to ensure they have the best opportunity to establish and sustain longevity.

“The variety of plants will ensure that once established the wetlands will deliver a beneficial ecosystem. The space will offer a beautiful vista for residents to enjoy,” he said.

The wetlands will provide residents an expansive recreation area only minutes from their front doors. It will feature four fitness stations, a large viewing platform and a designated shared use path connecting the estate.

To complete the landscaping 2,585 sqm of instant turf will be laid with 161 native trees in various sizes planted throughout. The wetlands will inspire a healthy lifestyle for residents and be a vital part of Monument’s community development.
